Midlothian, VA Family Photographer | Libby Hill Session | Church Hill Family Portraits | Fall Mini Session

I met this sweet & super fun family in Richmond VA at Libby Hill on a cool fall evening! They were so excited for the Fall family portraits and so was I! I am so thankful for my partner-in-crime and assistant, Rameca, for introducing me to the super fabulous M family! Besides meeting up with me for family photoshoots, this family LOVES family movie night and you want to know how they decide what they are going to watch? They have a ping pong challenge..winner gets to pick the movie! I LOVE IT!

After our session I had time to catch up with mom who shared some of her highlights from her session!

Please tell me if this location was special to you and why?

The location was not special going into the shoot but it certainly is now! Our family is not from Richmond so we deferred the choice of location to our photographer, Kat. She picked the perfect time of day and location. It was not just a fun shoot but a memory making experience.

What was the weather like for our shoot

It was a beautiful fall day at dusk.

Tell me about your favorite parts of our session, or why you enjoyed the session.

We loved how warmly Kat treated our boys. Boys don’t generally love to be dressed up and made to take photos after a full day at school. Kat made them feel comfortable immediately and created an fast, fun and efficient session!

Tell me about your outfits you wore, you can share where you bought them, how you decided on your outfits or if there was any special reason you chose certain outfits.

We chose the denim on denim look. We wanted to be fashionable but casual. It fits with the personality of our boys.

Did you bring any props? If so, why?

I brought my families favorite blanket. It’s what we curl up in at night. I wanted our shoot to include items there were meaningful to our lives. We got several great shots on the blanket at sunset.

Do you have any special plans for your pictures? Hang on the wall, make an album..ect..

We used our photos for Christmas cards, social media profiles and wall art!

Do you have a favorite or favorites from our session? If so which ones and why are they special?

Our silhouette photo was beautiful! We have received so many compliments on it!
