Many moons ago, I was a middle school Language Arts teacher and recently I’ve had the privilege of capturing many of my former students Senior sessions. This handsome guy is not only a former student, but has become a very special person to my family!
We had so many moments on this shoot where we were close to tears from laughing so hard. His momma joined us, and let me share, she knew EXACTLY what she wanted from this session. I think I might bring her to future sessions, she helped keep this free spirit on task! 😉
When we first arrived at UT I was a little stressed because, as we soon came to find out, it was prom night. The school was swarming with beautiful seniors scattered at every inch of this beautiful campus. The park area was set up with a Plant Fair and the water walk way was closed off due to the fair. OKAY! We can do this… it was time to regroup. We walked behind the school and found this cute little walk way! Momma was all about it, I just couldn’t tell her I had NEVER even seen this side of the school before 😉 (See above!)
We moved on and jumped into empty areas of the schools as we could! We made conversation with all the parents lined up to take pictures of the dressed-to-the-nines children. We learned that it’s not unheard of to spend $1,000 on a prom dress! ( I have two girls- time to start saving??) And the best part, many of the beautiful girls in their dresses took time to smile and say hi to our sweet senior!
When we couldn’t find anymore places to squeeze in at UT, we headed over to Curtis Hixon park and catch the sunset! Isaiah’s mom kept Isaiah’s smile alive as she shared so many stories of Isaiah from his childhood.
Isaiah is soon off to college and I could not have enjoyed more the lovely banter between Isaiah and his mother. They are the best of friends, that’s for sure! What an exciting time in both of their lives! I am humbled I could be a a part of it and spend this lovely afternoon with them. Enjoy a few more pictures from our session!
